How about "init 6" or "shutdown -r now"? Maybe you should check
for runaway processes. Or, maybe it's trying to unmount
something and just waiting for it to time out? It's really hard
to guess when you're miles away... How about calling up someone
who has physically access to the machine and ask for a hard boot.:)
