Since there are more of you clamoring for this, I may write an article on
how I set up NIS on Linux from scratch.
As an aside, we even got SAMBA/Windows authentication working for a group
of Windows9x boxes and the authentication would use the NIS accounts!!! I
don't know if that would still be easy to do with all the new SAMBA
features.
