There are 2 kinds of delivery receipts:
1> DSN wherein the receiving SMTP server handles the generation of delivery
receipt (the SMTP server should support this -> sendmail does but postifx
doesn't)
2> MDN wherein the user's MUA generates the delivery receipt itself.
Turning of MDN or DNS is as simple as (for instance) setting the return receipt
options in Netscape mail.
