Yeah. What both Aureal and Creative expect you to do is grab Timidity and
hang it off one of those /dev/dsp channels. Last I checked, Timidity
consumed an enormous amount of CPU power (40% of Richi's PIII-500 or
somewhere in that range). That's kinda odd, cause the last time I used
Timidity (in 1996) it ate about 10% of a Pentium-100. Since then it's
bloated itself significantly..
