That's because BeOS Personal "soft-boots" the system. It's similar to
soft-booting to MSDOG to configure your IBM Mwave card for SBPro
compatibility then booting into Linux with LOADLIN and then setting up the
sound card as an SBPro.
BeOS Personal does EXACTLY the same thing. Notice that after you "boot"
BeOS it runs the MSDOG setup program for your sound card? :)
It's not a coincidence.
p.s. BeOS doesn't win me right now. It doesn't support my sound card! (but
then even Linux is screwing up.. sigh.. silent Linux box)
