If you are looking for company that SUPPORT linux like Microsoft do to
Windows, then I guess you won;t find any, it is because Linus is open
source. But many company do offer help for linux, and Iphil does offer linux
training AFAIK. Yun nga lang medyo mahal yata.
If you are trying to do a feasibility study about a Philippines Distribution
of Linux, don't bother, because linux is free, if you want them to pay for
it, chances are, you won't get what you expect. there are a lot of linux
machine in the philipines, but I think seldom can you actually find one
Linux CD that originated from RedHat or Slackware. Pero kung gusto mo lang
gumawa ng distribution for the sake of Linux, then why not, you have my
support.

No idea on this one.

Exactly as you mention. But I recently notice lot of home user becoming
interested in Linux, so Linux as desktop maybe close at hand, and I've also
heard of a 486 laptop running on linux. yun nga lang madalang pa. :)
