Try the BTTV driver in Linux 2.2. It *might* support the Rainbow Runner.
The older Matrox Meteor is definitely supported, so you might get lucky..

Mandrake7 has bundled StarOffice 5.1a. You can download AbiWord (a neat
word processor, but it's currently at WordPad functionality) from
www.abisource.com.

My grotty solution is "chmod 666 /dev/modem" your mileage (and aesthetics)
may vary..
