Anyone can send to [EMAIL PROTECTED], but since
only list members can read the post, it takes away the motivation
for the average person to post there. And as for spam... We
have received extremely little spam there. The few people who
have tried it (less than 6 over the last year) have all been
blacklisted from the debian mail service.
Richard Stallman posts to debian-private, but not being a developer,
even he isn't privy to what goes on on the list. People post
security alerts to us, but that doesn't mean they should be joined
to the list.
