Hi Orly,

# Do you have SYSVSHM compiled into the kernel? it should be by default.. as
# an aside, Oracle8 installs on "out of the box" Linux kernel even with a
# 200MB SGA, but on Solaris you have to dig into /etc/system to up the SHM
# parameters, etc (painful because you have to force-load the SHM module
# before you can configure it).
#

Here's what I've done: I rebuilt the kernel with modified SHM* and SEM*
macros in the include/asm/shmparam.h, and include/linux/sem.h files as
recommended in the documentation. I thought this would do it, but I was
down right in crack. It didn't work.

I remember you saying that you where able to make it work.. (was it
you?).. did you have to change the parameters as well.

I'd appreciate any information

stay cool.
