not really to slow your system :-> during second bake-off of web caching,
duane wessels used the default options of freebsd's ufs and adding a noatime
option. here's the site for more details

if you really want a reliable file system, implement either software or
hardware raid 1 if speed and reliability you're looking for :-> the problem
with JFS, if the journal file (the ones who keep track the transaction) got
corrupted, you're in doom. :->
