I recently installed a workstation install of a RH6.1. After the
installation I tried to ftp to the server and it said "connection
refused".
I fixed the problem by installing and compiling a new wu-ftpd server on
it.
But everytime i try to go ftp hostname it asks for the username and
password then I type my username and password and then says
220 hostname.host.com FTP server (Version wu-2.5.0(1) Thu Jun 15 23:43:49
PHT 2000) ready.
Name (0:ian): ian
331 Password required for ian.
Password:
530 Login incorrect.
Login failed.

I have shadow enabled passwords with MD5. I know I'm typing in the
correct password but the server still wont let me in. Any ideas?
I even reset my password just to make sure but still the same results.
