RedHat is the big name.
It's predictable and most books and
software is written for this flavor.
Get the Latest 6.2
The name Hedwig is just a name of the version.
Mandrake is RedHat compatible.
It has some great desktop features.
My suggestion: You are new, get a good book on
redhat. Get a Redhat 6.2 cd. Install and learn.
When you want to do more advanced exciting, desktop stuff,
try MAndrake.
Why redhat first? 'Cuz when you download all those RPM
packaged programs, they're usually for Redhat.
The other "compatible" stuff are not entirely that
compatible and newbies will have to tinker a bit. With the
system.
