POP3 is a protocol. It does not define a mapping of email addresses to
usernames. It's perfectly legal to have an email address of
[EMAIL PROTECTED], a POP3 username of u0928475 and a unix login of bobrulez.
Most users expect their login name, email address, and POP3 username to be
the same, but that's only a convention.
