Use the serial port and a null modem cable, with PPP on the Linux box.

Unfortunately Win95 does not have a null modem device to make a null modem
usable with Dialup Networking. Fortunately someone wrote a null modem INF
and made it public. Unfortunately I cannot remember who or where to get it.
Fortunately I wrote an article (complete with ASCII diagrams) on how to do
this a couple of years ago, being in the same situation as yourself.
Unfortunately, I can't remember where I posted it.

Fortunately, http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/471/103.html has everything
you need to get it up and running.
