AdmuLinuxGo -- The Instant Linux
AdmuLinuxGo or "Run-Linux-on-CD", allows you to use a full-featured
Linux system without installing on your hard disk. It is ideal for
people who regularly run Windows on their PCs but also need the power
of a robust Unix-like operating system but without the hassle of disk
repartitioning. It is "boot-and-go" - you just boot the CD and you
instantly get a graphical mode Linux development system.
Included in the distribution are: linux-2.2.14 kernel, GNU libc-2.1.3,
gcc-2.95.2, netkit-0.16, xfree-3.3.6, fvwm-2.3.9, perl-5.005, python-1.5.2,
java-1.2.2, mysql-3.22.30, openssl-0.9.5, apache-1.3.12, php-3.0.15,
a selection of text editors (elvis, joe, jed, jove, pico, xwpe),
tex-web2c-7.2b, groff-1.15, ghostscript-5.10, xpdf-0.90, xv-3.10a, and
netscape-4.73. Also included are documentation from the Linux
Documentation project, all the HOWTOs and mini-HOWTOs, several html
pages on system administration, and the Apache/PHP/PHPlib manuals. Sorry
KDE, GNOME, and StarOffice are not included.
