Hi there everyone,
I posted before that I had a problem when a client insisted moving to
Pacific Internet, whose SMTP server doesn't relay even for members of
their local network (ie: I dial up to Pacific) unless the sender's e-mail
address is @pacific.net.ph. The system I set up uses Postfix and DialD.
Recently I've gotten a LOT of problems with Postfix not finding the
destination host. I noticed this has something to do with a name lookup
being the trigger for DialD to bring the link up. When the link goes up,
instead of continuing the lookup properly, Bind returns host not found.
I'm using Bind 8.2.2_P5, and have the forwarders option set to both
primary and secondary nameservers that Pacific Internet prescribes for its
subscribers.
Would anyone know how I can fix this, considering I still cannot use
Pacific Internet's SMTP server as a relay for my purposes (like now, I'm
using I-Manila's SMTP but my from is @leather-collection.com. As long as
I'm not attempting this procedure when logged in from any other ISP,
things work. To be honest, I wish this client didn't insist on Pacific.
Darned it.)? I'm getting in touch with Pacific Internet's tech support to
appeal for relaying to be permitted from their network, but I honestly
don't know how far I'll get with this, and when things will change.
Thanks in advance. :)
