hi peeps. i turned on my parallel port to ecp and linux detected its io port at
0x378h fine. it also detected the irq at 5. now, the kernel says "use procfs to
enable interrupt-driven operation." how in the world do i do that? i
tried "echo 5 > /proc/parport/0/irq" but the value stayed the same at "none". i
really need to enable interrupts in my parallel port since i only have a
parallel port NIC to use. i narrowed the down the problem of my de620 to the
driver not being able to see the response packets as the NIC fails to signal
the cpu via the irq. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

vince.
