Most small devices have 802.11b capability. It's usually more than
enough for most apps, although speed ratings could change depending on
a lot of other issues (LOS, Fresnel zone, water...).

On a non-related note - wifi is a battery guzzler by itself. :)
Coupled with another battery guzzler such as a JVM...
