It is quite interesting to encounter this. I was trying to print out an article for my research. It was a PDF file and I opened it up in KPDF (then later Acrobat7 for Linux). After I hit print, It just sat there a Looooong Tiiiime. I became impatient and started killing every process involved. I tried to just print to file (.ps) and then move on from there. After printing it out, even gv was not able to read it. It just showed me the first word on the first page of the article and then quit with an error. I tried Print Preview in KPDF and it showed me the same thing and just sat there for a loooong tiiiiime.
It's not the printer nor KPDF nor Acrobat. It's the PDF file. I was wondering if this file has a sort of "print protection" with it. The file can be downloaded here: http://www.pbts.net.ph/goodies/speech_act.pdf It would be nice to get it printed though; although I can read off my screen.
