at home in bed on a Friday afternoon?!! radiusclient populates the NAS-IP-Address attribute by resolving the hostname of the machine which is running pppd. i happened to have a "127.0.0.1 my.host.name" in /etc/hosts which short-circuited the DNS lookup... :P
