Let me just tell a story about my brother, he was used to using windows at
school. When i gave him my old PC with Mandrake 9.1 loaded his first
reaction was "WHAT IS THAT!". I explained to him the merits of using a
Linux system. Afterwards he just asked about the compatibility of
open-source apps with windows apps such as word processors, spreadsheet,
etc. i demoed to him OpenOffice (not the browsers, we live in a backward
town remember?)after seeing that what he can do in MS Office he can do
with OOo and that the gui is not much different he agreed not to reformat
the PC. Now he is a fulltime linux user.

As with other pips in Gabaldon, when i show them the linux desktop (KDE &
Gnome) their reaction was the same, that its cooler than WinXP and then &
there bugs me to dual-boot their PCs, or have a copy of Knoppix.

I guess one of the reason for easily selling to them OSS is the way i
approach them (people). before i even show them what i am carrying i would
say to them in my most mayabang way, "tingnan nyo to, mas maganda sa
windows! 9or something to that effect)" and after a simple demo, they are
sold to OSS. i guess its just a matter of conditioning.

thank you for your patience with my blabbering!
