What IDC says is quite different from what someone at MS told me early this year... the gist of what he said was that, while there were notable misfires in Linux adoption (particularly the attempt at a full Linux desktop by a certain large bank...) they are increasingly concerned about the adoption of Linux and OSS/Free software in general (MySQL, PostgreSQL, PHP..) by many of their first-tier clients. Remember though that MS doesn't market directly: the channels partners do that. MS only provides the software and technical/pre-sales marketing support. _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
