How bad will be the latency of 100Hz on a fairly "old" laptop?
it depends on the application and the number of processes are running...
100hz means that it will give a timeslice of 10ms of cpu attention for
every process that are running (not included sleeping processes and
zombies)... 100hz is fairly enough for a slower hardware...
