I dont know if this is related (am not familiar with DVI
functionality) The laptop I am using now uses the ATI Mobility Radeon
9000IGP chip and I am using the default X.org drivers shipped with
Mandriva LE 2005. I can use it to watch movie clips and the general
apps (OO.o, firefox, eclipse, etc.) without any problems. I have yet
to try running any graphics intensive games on it but glxgears
reported framerates in the hundred (I cant remember now) so that is
pretty promising.

ciao!
