Using a fat-client-able system as a thin client is definitely a waste. Worse, it slows things down since you centralize the processing load and introduce a network bottleneck. Some optimization could still be done with fat-client-able systems, though, by doing away with the local hard drives and using a central NFS-based root filesystem. --> Jijo -- Federico Sevilla III : jijo.free.net.ph : When we speak of free software GNU/Linux Specialist : GnuPG 0x93B746BE : we refer to freedom, not price. _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
