Same sentiment with you and Paolo. It was debated a few years ago on the Debian mailing list to split the general mailing list from debian-user and a newbie mailing list. It did not prosper. It all boils down to one rhetorical question, if you are a Linux newbie, then how do you know if your question is newbie, general, or advanced?
