You can also run a 2.6.x kernel with even 8.1, last time I checked.
And if you're going to do wireless routing, you best have a 2.6.x
kernel, IMHO.

Well, so far so good.  Slackware installed and is running without much problems (except those due to human-made mistakes).  I just installed the A packages (full).  Haven't had time to test it thoroughly.
