all red hat has to do is provide source code (tar.gz) and patches, tapos bahala ka mag-hack ng Makefiles to make things RPM-compliant. that would still be GPL-conforming.
here's another way: source code is only available on floppy disk, for $100 per floppy disk. that's STILL compliant with the GPL, believe it or not.
