You can try out swaret ( http://swaret.sourceforge.net ) to update/upgrade Slackware Linux installations from version 8.1 up. I use it to update but not to upgrade (eg: 10.1 to 10.2). It works well for me to update Slackware Linux installations. But I haven't tried it for upgrading ( I somehow have that subjective feeling that it is best to re-install than to upgrade ).
