On my ThinkPad, I have used Mandrake, Debian and Ubuntu. So far, they
worked pretty well on it. Although when it comes to putting it on
suspend, I had trouble with Mandrake and Debian which couldn't make it
suspend properly =( It works well with Ubuntu so far =)

You might try to also take a look at the documentation that's
available online with regards to specific issues that concern specific
distros, if you already have a preferred one. I use Ubuntu primarily
because I don't have internet access at home so I get the packages
from the installer CD (the packages there are pretty basic, I guess)
and when I do get to connect online (in the office) everything is just
an apt-get away ;) Mandrake and CentOS would also be ok when it comes
to the variety of apps that come with the installer CDs, methinks =)

Hope that helps =)
