Hi nidhog, I haven't tried installing 2 versions of Windows with Linux but I've done dualbooting WinXP and Linux. I think the main thing to do is install the Windows OSes first. Maybe, Win98 then WinXP. Just leave enough partitioned space for Linux. After the Windows OSes are installed, you can install most Linux distros without any problems. It's also a good idea to have a FAT32 for moving files from Linux to Windows and vice versa. So your plan looks OK.
