Well yeah, advocates should encourage others to shift but they should qualify "easy".  Easy if you don't use VBA, Active Directory and all the others mentioned in the articles you yourself posted in this thread.

I think Linux advocates should do this. I got lured into Linux for information I got from the Internet and various people that its easy to migrate to Linux--some distros even made it their selling point.

As for OpenOffice, I am not thinking of making it EXACTLY like MSOffice. Some have even said that openoffice is better because it has some features that MS does'nt have. But at least OpenOffice should be compatible to MS, that I can open and edit files without destroying anything.

Linux is still minority and it continues to live alongside the wholly mammoth that is MS at least on the desktop side.
