The forum is for "free" and it aims to advocate open source solutions among computer users in the government, academe and private sector to address the rampant software piracy and austerity measures. It also paves way for the creation of the Bicol Open Source Society (BiOS) to facilitate promotion of open source systems in the region, to sustain and implement the outputs of the forum, and to plan future programs and activities towards open source adoption
Leaders in FOSS community will grace the event, and will discuss various topics/issues relative to open source, to wit:
* Value of Open Source
* Linux 101
* The State of FOSS in the Philippines
* FOSS in the Government / Business / Academe
* GNU Public License and Related Legal Issues
As this is the time to uplift FOSS spirit in the Bicol Region, we would like to invite all Bicolanos who are FOSS enthusiasts and computer users to participate in this event. However, due to limited slots, participants shall be accommodated on a first-come-first-serve basis.
