a NUTS (http://www.ogham.demon.co.uk/nuts.html) based
chat.bulak.ph.net (port 7000) was running (under the radar) 24x7 on a
486 box  using Slackware way back '96 and lasted for almost a year (i
guess) before the hard disk crashed. :D
