Hi, Migs,

Let me put in my little bit, too.  I was working with CRC-CAS (now UA&P) then, and my colleague was Rafael Portillo who was taking his MS at Ateneo (under DocMana).  He brought in Slackware on diskettes one time, and that was my first experience with Linux.  This was 1993-1994.

We had a scheduled dial-up connection to Ateneo through which we got email.  If I remember right, the Ateneo connection went through Australia.    Not sure about the exact details of the implementation, then.  I think it might have been UUCP.

Kelsey Hartigan-Go was at DLSU then, and he also offered to link us through La Salle.

Two other memories: one of using Lynx to browse some of the first web sites; and another, introducing talk to my students in a class.  For some reason, my students took to it like fish to water ;-)  I had no idea why.
