Had the same problem before. Solution: booted a rescue CD ( or try other Linux LiveCD )..  then change root to the root partition of your whitebox installation. Once you're there, execute the passwd command to change your password (as root).

Hello Linux users!

I have this problem. I forgot the root password of my box running Whitebox linux Respin 1 and whenever I try to boot it using Disk 1 to boot through linux rescue it goes thru the installation process rather.

How do I recover or change the root passwd using linux rescue? I also tried linux 1 or linux single but to no avail.

Any expert help will be appreciated.

God Bless.
