The NIC may have been undetected because it may be quite new and Linux doesn't yet have a driver for it. If you check dmesg and there's nothing in it about that NIC, it may be an unsupported card. If you really need to connect that PC to the network, you can get another NIC, just make sure that it's Linux-compatible. Hope this helps. Thanks!

I just completed installation of Mandriva Linux 2006 on a new machine with the following specs: Motherboard: Red Fox GeForce 6100-M9 Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3000+ RAM: 1 GB How do I get started connecting to our LAN if my network interface device is not on the list found in "Mandriva Linux Control Center" > "Network & Internet" > "Set up a new network interface (LAN, ISDN, ADSL, ...)"? The device is on-board. Here's all the information on it found on the motherboard's manual: 10/100 LAN PHY - PHY: RTL8201BL/RTL8201CL. - Supports 10 Mb/s and 100 Mb/s auto-negotiation. - Half/Full duplex capability - Supports ACPI, PCI power management Is there any other means of setting up my network connection, preferably another GUI configuration tool (my apologies to configuration-by-hand purists)?
