why not instead of making a new distro devote all our time making a good front end for linux. optimize load speed of the graphical interface. i notice windows loads first the GUI before loading all the other drivers. it makes an impression that is faster loading compared to all other linux distro. making a distro out of another distro could be a good exercise but what's the point. why not build it from scratch? if it will eliminate my habit of downloading a src then that would be better. why not introduce a new package and distribution technology? linux will only be successful on the desktop if the common people could use it.
