So true, maybe a grid computing ready distro?  Apple's G4 and macOSX says it can do this and once connected to the grid the compile time (eg for Java) goes down almost to 1/100. I'd love that to be readily available for FC..

Many distros started as "customized versions" of Red Hat Linux
(Mandriva, SuSE, CentOS) and Debian GNU/Linux (Ubuntu, Xandros). So
the answer is yes.
