Ahh... now I see why you're able to access SMB shares via Firefox.
Firefox 1.5 should still support it as long as your copy of Firefox
links to GNOME VFS, and if your GNOME VFS installation supports SMB
shares. I was able to make this work on Firefox 1.5.0.4.
