What other hardware have you got on that box? I've also installed Dapper on a machine that has much lower specs (Athlon XP 1800, 256MB RAM, 40GB IDE, Nvidia GeForce). Booting actually does take less than a minute for this machine, although I do remember that booting the installation CD took a lot longer, and the system is nice and zippy, with most applications, including, surprisingly, Firefox, starting reasonably fast. -- When did "Give me liberty or give me death" become "Give death to liberty"? http://stormwyrm.blogspot.com/ _________________________________________________ Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [email protected] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Read the Guidelines: http://linux.org.ph/lists Searchable Archives: http://archives.free.net.ph
