Frankly however, unless you plan to purchase a whole bunch of servers, I
don't see the point in getting the rack-mountable form factor units
(especially if you don't have a server cabinet). You might as well
purchase a single high-end workstation in a desktop form-factor and make
that your server. Try looking at least for SATA instead of SCSI to
reduce costs, but don't skip out on RAID.
How much are those? Im using a 12u rack at home. I want an opteron box
as a workstation. Looks like its the only way to buy an opteron system
for software development.

things i hate about my linux pc:
1. it takes more than a second to boot up
2. keeps asking about filenames and directories
3. does not remember what i was working on yesterday
4. does not remember all the changes i have ever made
5.cannot figure out necessary settings by itself
