-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Apprehension as in "fearful expectation"? lol.
I can only speak for my own but: I am running clamav side by side with trendmicro AV on our email server(s). As to date, there is no single virus that our trendmicro detects and clamav failed to detect. One good example was when the famous bagle.c virus hits our domain's global email servers, our local email server was already detecting it bacause of clamav, trendmicro detected it a day after. ( and so on for a lot of other bagle variants ). Now it wouldn't be the case if clamav is not regularly updated, wouldn't it? Still, you should have a backup solution for everything, what if clamav suddenly decides to drop the project, how will you cope with it? You should be ready to answer questions like that from the management, That way, they will think that you have thought of everything, thus they will be confident on the solution that you will bringing on their tables. hth, Kenneth Panasonic Communications Philippines Corporation Information Systems Division - Administration Department - -- PGP Public Key: http://m.1asphost.com/koncinian/koncinian.gnupg.key Joey S.
