Give the guy a break, he sounds like in the Micro$oft Linux FUD Campaign payroll, no matter how he tries to convince everyone, including himself, that he supports FOSS.
You talking about me? Hmmm... Let's see... I use Windows on one of my notebooks with legally procured proprietary software only installed as well as FOSS on Windows, I use Ubuntu in the other one, I develop with C++ on Debian, use the Boost C++ libraries, have a library up in Sourceforge. (among other things). I don't get paid by Microsoft (though I wouldn't mind) and I've been using Linux since 2002, and had been developing solutions on it for a while already. I've been pushing for the government to use FOSS from the municipality where my uncle is Mayor, helped him set up the eLGU system provided by the NCC (which is crappy FOSS), and have had my share of Windows 2000 horror stories. I'm just against mandating that FOSS only be used in government, because I want FOSS to make it in on its own merits. Instead of getting preferrential treatment, I want FOSS to make it in because it's really good for the purpose of government. I've had a lot of opportunities to advocate the use of Linux since a couple of years back, talked in seminars pro bono (along with Paolo Falcone and other Linux and FOSS advocates) and am still open to sharing my time for the advocacy on the use of Linux and FOSS. Do your research first before making offensive claims such as "he sounds like in the Micro$oft Linux FUD Campaign payroll". So what have you done for FOSS today "Tito Mari Francis Escaño" ? -- Dean Michael C. Berris C++ Software Architect Orange and Bronze Software Labs, Ltd.
