So if we follow this logic, Christianity is communist because it encourages -- in fact mandates in certain cases -- sharing. Give me a break.

Sharing ownership is NOT communist. STATE control and ownership IS. The state does not really share. That is how communism is practiced (Stalinism, Maoism, orthodox communism, etc.).
