To somewhat paraphrase some people on this thread: the reason why we
have the Generics Act as a law instead of a dead bill (and the reason
why generic drugs, which the pharmaceutical companies were vehement
against at the onset, because it'd cut their profits) is, and I'm
speculating here, because its initial propositions were even
"worse"/stronger than what the current form (and language) of the
act. It was watered down, and we're enjoying the watered down
version. That's life. :)
