An oppurtunity is here. Rather than spending billions for a very few

Yeah we could actually requrest for a hardware prototype for
evaulation and testing. This is the usual procedure when considering
to join the OLPC initiative, be it as an implementor (a country) or as
a software developer (individual). The OLPC can't be considered a
whitebox solution since an implementor may have to change some
settings as required (say language settings for instance).

I just hope somebody of significance can hear us and consider, thinking
about the future generation, thinking about my people.

I hope so to! I've seen the hardware prototype run, as well as tested
the sugar interface. It does defy a lot of desktop computing paradigms
on what we perceive as a usable interface (do you teach a student
about word processing or about how to create a good essay for
instance). But then, the OLPC shouldn't be considered as a technology
initiative and used as a champion for improving the educational
system. It is designed to adapt to a country's education requirements
as a learning tool, and most importantly, as a collaboration tool for
students.
