Most of the problems mentioned are trivial to solve for seasoned Linux admins. Perhaps the greatest issue is human factor. Effort is involved in any change. Users and admins will resist for this reason alone. Sudden changes can overwhelm the users and admins. A measured approach is always better. Clearly, the company (or admin) is not yet ready to make the change.
