I guess that clicking "KDE-->Switch User-->Lock current and start new session" would do just that.

Are two simultaneous logins (different users) possible under KDE? This is the scenario: user #1 is using a multi-user desktop. User #2 needs something quick. With user #1's permission, he logs into his own desktop, does his thing, and exits back to user #1's desktop without rebooting. Note I'm not talking of the command line but of GUI desktops.
