HA w/o load-balancing? or HA w/ Load-balancing?

if you're not interested with the load-balancing feature, you should
consider using the mysql replication with heartbeat. although,
you have make changes on the ha.d mysql init script to make
sure that the Master (previously offline) is in sync with the Slave
(current MAIN host) before taking over again as the MAIN host.

you might also want to try using the MySQL Cluster especially
if you're interested on implementing a load-balancing feature on
your DBs.

hi,

i wanted to implement HA on a DB production environment. i was
thinking of
using the following combination:

        Heartbeat+DRDB+MySQL
                or
        Heartbeat+RSYNC+MySQL
                or
        ?????

and do you prefer HA over ethernet or HA over a serial cable

are there things that i need to be worried about?

thanks
